File Transfer Privacy Policy

File Transfer is a local Wi-Fi file sharing app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may process, how it is used, and how advertising may be handled in the app.

1. Information We Process

The app is designed to transfer files directly between nearby devices on the same Wi-Fi network.

Selected files: Files are accessed only after you choose them for transfer.
Device name: The app may show your chosen device name so nearby receivers can identify your device.
Local network information: The app uses Wi-Fi and nearby device discovery to find receivers on the same network.
Transfer history: The app may store basic transfer records locally, such as file name, file size, peer device name, status, and time.

2. How Information Is Used

To discover nearby devices that are ready to receive files.
To send and receive selected files over the local network.
To show transfer progress, results, and recent transfer history.
To help you identify your own device and the peer device during transfer.

3. Local File Transfers

File transfers are intended to happen directly between devices on the same Wi-Fi network. The app does not require uploading your selected files to our own cloud server for the core transfer function.

You are responsible for choosing which files to send and confirming that the receiving device is trusted.

4. Advertising

This product includes advertising. Ads may be provided by third-party advertising partners. These partners may collect or receive certain information from your device to show ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and improve ad relevance.

Depending on the ad provider and your device settings, advertising data may include:

Device identifiers or advertising identifiers.
Approximate location inferred from network or device settings.
App interaction data, ad views, clicks, and diagnostic information.
Information used for frequency capping, fraud prevention, analytics, and ad personalization.

You may be able to limit ad personalization through your device privacy or advertising settings.

5. Permissions

The app may request permissions that support local file transfer and nearby device discovery, including:

Network and Wi-Fi access: Used to check connectivity and transfer files over the local network.
Nearby Wi-Fi devices or location permission: Used for nearby device discovery where required by Android.
File access through the system picker: Used only for files you select.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Transfer history and device preferences may be stored locally on your device. You can clear transfer history in the app. Removing the app may also remove locally stored app data, depending on your device settings.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your selected files. Files are sent only to the receiving device you choose or approve during the transfer flow. Advertising partners may process advertising-related data as described in the Advertising section.

8. Children's Privacy

File Transfer is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review the request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updated version should be reviewed from the date shown at the top of this page.
